More and more employers in California are becoming subject to legal restrictions on the use of criminal history information when making employment decisions. The City of San Francisco passed the Fair Chance Ordinance, which became effective in August 2014, prohibiting employers with at least twenty (20) employees from inquiring about a job applicant’s criminal history on an employment application and from asking about criminal history information during an initial employment interview. http://articles.jmbm.com/2017/06/02/client-alert-2017-criminal-background-laws/
